Dixie is a beautiful sorrel mare with a lot of potential. She is broke to ride, but she is not a kid's horse. We believe she was abused, and she is spooky and flinchy. She is fine if you just talk to her and move slow. She possibly was a show horse in her past and does not have that fluffy winter coat like we were hoping she'd get. We don't have a heated barn or barn to put her in. She does have a loafing shed she can use. She is timid around a lot of horses and does better in a herd less than 7 which we have.... (read more) She will make someone a wonderful horse. I really don't want her shipped around as she will build her confidence and trust with one person and will succeed. Time is what this gal needs. She will stay til the right person comes along. She is not a huge horse, but the right size. She has shoes on all 4's right now and will be getting her teeth and feet done in a week. Her brand-new winter blanket, rain sheet, and her turn out sheet all go with her. She loads like a dream and hauls just the same. She also has a one hand neck rein. She was used at a feedlot as we were told also. Not sure how true that is.
