Who is looking for an exceptionally safe and well mannered horse with NO vices? Introducing the incredible Halcon De Fuego aka “Halo”. Halo is a tall handsome boy that is as sweet and affectionate as he is handsome. This is the safest horse I have ever been around, he has absolutely ZERO spook.... (read more) Holding true to Andalusian type he is brave, intelligent and willing. He loves people, is friendly and very easy to have around.
Halo spends much of his riding time working on his dressage in the arena. He is schooling second level movements and ready to start moving up in the world. He is supple and has lateral movements including: shoulder in, counter shoulder in, travers, renvers, side pass and can also perform walk pirouette, counter canter and more. Halo has very smooth and easy to sit gaits with a lovely trot and beautiful uphill canter. Halo is light to the aids with a beautifully soft mouth. He is extremely in tune with his rider and always paying attention. He truly is an amateur dream horse!
Halo also spends time playing with many other disciplines. He has taken part in many one day clinics including barrel racing, classical equitation, working equitation, hunter/jumper, cross country and more! He is so easy to teach and willing to try new things while always keeping his head on straight as an arrow. Halo has recently started jumping and has jumped up to 3’6” with ease. He is willing and scopey over jumps and has never refused a fence. Halo has been exposed to mounted archery and has had arrows shot from his back. Again this was extremely easy to teach a horse with no fear! Halo has also spent plenty of time in the mountains exploring the trails. He is forward and brave on trails as well as sure footed and balanced on tricky terrain. He rides out in a group or alone and has zero herd bound tendencies. Halo has done some over nighters and arrives at a new place quiet, happy and settles in easily. Halo also looks good in a western saddle and has had ropes thrown off of him and has moved cattle. Halo has also been to the lake swimming on multiple occasions. He will fearlessly cross any water that you point him towards. This boy really is up for any adventure!
Don’t be put off by the fact that Halo is a stallion. He can easily be gelded before leaving for his new home. Halo is very well socialized. He lives with and enjoys playing with his geldings and colts. His manners are second to absolutely no horse! He is respectful of fences. He comes when called and is easy to catch. He leads beautifully and is very soft on the halter. He loads and unloads flawlessly into a trailer and trailers like a dream. He is exceptional for the farrier and actually gets trimmed with very noisy power tools and stands like a statue! He will stand tied all day long, doesn’t paw or pull back (he will however have a nap). He is easy to groom and tack up. He clips and bathes. Stands for braids without fussing. He has done plenty of classical in hand work. He lunges nicely on straight lines or circles.
Halo is a healthy and easy to have around. He regulates his weight nicely on a grass/alfalfa round bale year round. He doesn’t NEED grain although he gets a little bit to hold his supplement. He is dewormed twice a year and always has clean fecals. His teeth were done last year and was booked in to be done this year but the vet took one look and said his teeth looked perfect and could go another year (what a lovely money saver that was!). He does best kept shod on the front. He has no known injuries or scars.
