Rye (JC:Brooklawn)

Rye is generally a very good guy with a great brain. He is 16.2 hh and 4 yrs old - he only had 3 starts at the track. We just finished competing at the RRP where he finished 21st in Dressage and won the highest scoring team. We also finished 38th in show hunters.

He has had a ton of off-property experience. He has been to multiple dressage schooling shows, USEF shows, trail ridden and hunter paced.

I am an eventer, so he competed at 5 USEA rated events this summer at the starter level, including Area 1 championships and 2024 AECs (American Eventing Championships) in Kentucky.... (read more)

He typically has eventing dressage scores in the low 30s. He won at Larkin Hill (Area 1) and was champion for TIP. At AECs he was unphased by the large venue, cantered around the Rolex Arena and finished 13th (in the ribbons) and was Reserve TIP. He is very comfortably coursing around 2'3" with changes (not auto, but there when asked). He has attended multiple schooling shows where we played in the 2'6" jumpers. He was Reserve champion at his first rated show in the 2'6" baby green hunters.

I am happy to keep him another season but would let him go to a perfect home. He is safe and easy for an amateur or junior to continue riding. He will be ready to go beginner novice or be competitive in the thoroughbred hunters next year

He is a mild cribber (does not crib with a collar on). He is typically ridden in a plain snaffle, however I occasionally ride cross country in a full-cheek dr.bristol.

He is easy to work with and I am able to load and trailer him places completely by myself, he walks right on. He is easy-going and safe enough for my non-horsey boyfriend to lead/handle/groom and ride for walks.
