The first thing people notice about Groot is that he’s simply gorgeous. He is shapey with a big soft kind eye and he has a cool ranchy look about him that always gets attention. He’s also a perfect size, easy to mount with great substance and presence, along with sturdy bone allowing him to go all day long.... (read more) But Groot is not just another pretty face. This guy does it all. He has been all over the country. As a result, Groot has been exposed to everything under the sun. He ropes and holds cattle for doctoring; sorts and pushes cattle, gate sorts and moves pairs; and is slowly started on the smarty on the head side. With this horse and a good stock dog, you can load a pot full of cattle all by yourself. He is brave, confident, handy, and athletic. He’s also not all work and no play. Groot has all the skills to be your best trail buddy or family horse. He will cross water, go over logs, through deep brush, and navigate bridges without having to ask him twice. He rides out alone or in a group with impeccable manners. He will tolerate any human shenanigans trail riding may bring out. In a saddle or bareback, he doesn’t care. Completely unbothered around dogs, vehicles, farm equipment and UTVs, even when they invade his personal space.
Groot is a beautiful mover with easy transitions from walk-trot-lope/canter. Stops on a dime, has a cute turnaround on him. Broke like one should be. Loads and unloads without drama. You can pick up all 4 feet easily. Good in a stall or in a pasture with other horses. He stands 15.1hh tall and weighs 1200lbs and just 7 years old!
