With a heavy heart I am putting my 8 year old OTTB up for sale. I purchased him when he was 4 years old, he jumped 1.20m with me on my first try out ride. He is wonderful and such a lovely ride. He loves cross country! He loves having a job and attention. He’s a gelding with a puppy dog personality, this guy will folly you around and lay on the ground with you. He also sticks out his tongue for treats. He’s extremely goofy! He needs an amateur rider or someone looking for a semi project horse to train up the levels.... (read more) I trained him to do eventing beginner novice and novice when he was 4. He placed in his first show and did amazing even while getting chased by a dog on cross country he was very focused. I got ill after and my old injuries from bad falls in the past were giving me issues, I couldn’t ride for a few months and we also moved to a new state. He still jumped with me and had fun but as I got worse he started to refuse more and more jumps. When I really wasn’t doing well he would refuse even poles. I believe this gelding is very sensitive and knew I was not 100%, he was worried and didn’t want to get me hurt which is why I love this youngster. I then decided to move him to dressage as it’s easier on me as well, he did wonderful and got up to second level with scores all the way up to 69! I haven’t been riding him much the past few months because I am now teaching a lot and have another youngster I am bringing up for my coach. I believe with the right rider Phoenix will thrive in eventing again and if not he could go any way like dressage or even western. He loves galloping and having fun. Help this beautiful gelding find his forever home! ✨
