Biggie is a classic looking gelding ready for his next career and has the aptitude to do it all! He had 6 outs and just didn’t like being a race horse (last race 9/21/23) so for the last year he has gone through a let down period and started under a stock saddle which he’s taken to fantastically.... (read more) He’s been shown the barrel pattern at a walk and trot, ponied other colts on the track, and just ridden outside for exposure. In the arena he is green for his age but he’s smart; he picks things up fast and retains what you’ve taught him. Biggie trots on a loose rein, picks up both leads, flexes both directions softly, and can be ridden with your fingertips. When ponying colts, he’s completely unphased by everything going on and is like a brick wall when the colts try to run or push him around. While with us, we have taken him over a few lower jumps just to get a feel for his ability and we think he could make a wonderful hunter or show jumper or possibly even an eventer with his movement and braveness. He handles time off well and goes back into work with zero silliness or resistance, traffic safe, not a hot head or easily excited, gets a long with others, and does exceptionally well in new places. On the ground, Biggie is a BIG sweetheart. This gelding just wants your attention and is a gentleman to be around for everything from bathing to tacking up. If he’s laid out napping, he’ll even let you come up and cuddle with him. This is a big, kind hearted gelding with tons on untapped potential.
We are listing Biggie as an agent for a girl that works for our vet. She’s owned Biggie since he was a yearling and he has had the absolute best care with her. Due to her circumstances at this time, she just has no time for him and does not want him to go to waste. He’s sound and does not require any special care or maintenance, has fantastic bone, currently barefoot, UTD on all care, and is ready to go on with. Open to offers.

Sarah's history in the saddle dates back to before she could walk with early memories involving riding shotgun in a baby carrier while her father, Steve Rattan, rode through wheat pasture cattle. Her diverse background spans from rodeo events, cutting, and three-day eventing, with training under the tutelage of renowned mentors in each discipline.
On the other hand, Alex Halverson embarked on his riding journey later than Sarah, honing his fundamentals in the hunter-jumper arena before delving into the world of cutting and ranch horses, eventually managing them with expertise. Together, Sarah and Alex bring a wealth of experience to H Spur Performance & Versatility Horses, allowing them to truly grasp the essence of a well-rounded equine partner. With the newest addition to their family, little Stetson, safety is a top priority.
