If you’re looking for a big, stout, ranching and roping type horse, Matilda is your gal! This beautiful dun mare is very amateur-friendly and has been ridden by everyone, including the elderly and the kids. She’s excellent on obstacles and has a nice handle on her. Matilda has lots of experience around the farm and on the trails. We love her ability to tackle new situations with confidence! She’s quiet and steady but can stop on a dime or whip out a turn as fast as you’d like.... (read more) Matilda can spin, sidepass, drag logs and tarps, and cross water and bridges with surefootedness. You won’t have to deal with any nonsense from this girl. She doesn’t get cinchy or buck with time off. She’s comfortable being ridden bareback and in a halter. Super easy to catch. Ties great. Stands for the farrier. Trailer loads perfectly.We’ve spent a lot of time working on and around Matilda and can attest that she’s one special mare. She’s incredibly talented and ready to go in any direction.
