“Lyle” is a 6yr old, 15.3hh, paint gelding who is safe, safe, safe! This handsome guy can tote around your kids, husband, and grandmother on the trails, and in the ring.... (read more) Not only does he have a super quiet personality, he has a beautiful, unique, paint coat!
In the barn, Lyle has zero bad habits. He can live in, or out, alone, or in a mixed herd and causes no drama. He stands on the cross ties to be groomed, tacked, bathed, braided, etc. He likes attention and is gentle for absolutely anyone to work with. He has docile ground manners, and is safe with children and dogs running around his feet.
On the trails, Lyle will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. Drop the reins and let him follow right along, I would feel safe throwing anyone on him for a lovely, relaxing trail ride. He doesn’t mind the dogs following along, and he is not spooky. Luke has also been camping and high lines well. Pack your saddle bags full of beer, and go enjoy a nice trail ride with Lyle. He would make a fantastic husband or guest horse!
Lyle rides western, english, and bareback. He has extremely comfortable gaits, with a smooth trot, and rocking horse canter. Lyle neck reins, and moves off of leg. He has a good whoa and back up. He will pivot and is learning to side pass as well.
In the ring, Lyle will walk, trot, canter, knows his leads, and even pops over small fences! He is a push style ride, but not stubborn nor hard to get moving. He listens well to verbal commands, and goes to work when asked, no crop needed. Lyle will ride around in all three gaits on the buckle, and is a super uncomplicated ride, I could ride him with my eyes closed! He is forgiving and can take a joke. He is even a naturally pretty mover!
Lyle loads and trailers like a dream. You can tie him to the trailer to tack up etc as well. He is also safe around cattle. The other night I jumped on him bareback with a halter and lead rope and cantered around the pasture with a loose horse galloping, bucking, and jumping around with me, and Lyle didn’t bat an eye!
Here is a gentle, all around gelding, who loves people, and takes care of his rider. At only six years old, he acts like an old soul. If you are looking for a babysitter type, that doesn’t need to be in a routine, that you can tack up and go for a ride whenever you want and feel safe, Lyle is your boy!
