Meet Mudpuppy or Rips Red Lena.
This beautiful girl is a 4yr old AQHA registered mare. I absolutely adore this horse and I’m in no rush to sell her. She stands around 14.2 and is a quick, catty, and athletic ride.
She neck reins, side passes, pivots on her front and hind end, counter bends, takes the correct leads, and w/t/c nicely. Mudpuppy has a great stop to her and is very willing to please. I’ve primarily done barrels just for fun and to learn on her.... (read more) I run her to the left but I don’t imagine she would be difficult to take to the right. She knows the pattern and where to go. If someone wanted to finish her out and be serious with it I’m sure she could do great. She’s not going to be your next 1D super show horse though ??♀️.
She’s been roped off of on the head and heel side. I can’t rope worth anything, so I haven’t done a lot with it, but she absolutely doesn’t care about a rope and has tracked a mechanical dummy and been on live cattle. She would excel with roping I believe and with her stop she’d be great at break away.
I’ve taken her out on trails over water, in traffic, and over bridges. She can be looky but that’s how she’s bred. Never bolted, bucked, or done anything silly. She’s carried a flag with no issues and been in summer camps. I’ve even popped her over jumps on trails and in the arena and she doesn’t hesitate. She’s just now getting to the age where someone could really take her that direction she seems to do well with it I’m just primarily a western rider. I believe a handy youth would have no issue riding her she’s got buttons and she’s soft in the mouth so putting a kid who’s gonna yank and kick like crazy wouldn’t be the best for her.
Stands tied all day never set back I would tie her to a string and expect her to be there when I got back. Picks her feet up and stands feet for the farrier. She’s has wonderful ground manners and knows all her groundwork.
Again I’m in no rush to sell this mare she’s got a doll baby personality, an awesome heart for riding, and obviously has the looks. She’s barefoot all the way around and hasn’t given me any issues with soundness yet. PPE welcome at the buyers expense. She’s UTD on coggins and shots.
