Princess Buttercup is a buckskin mare with a funny personality. She LOVES children, and will call out to them when she sees them. Adults need to earn her love and are viewed as feed delivery systems. She has been a family pony since December of 2022 and has enjoyed a very chill existence where she is randomly called upon to carry toddlers, or lanky 8 year olds since we got her when she was 4. (read more) She has been primarily used as a lead-line pony at our home for the children of our neighborhood but she can be ridden independently. When ridden we usually use her halter and leadline as reins and she is responsive. She will accept a bit but I don't bother with it as she is so good without. She has been ponied, but she needs practice as she likes to be out front. She is barefoot and stands for our farrier as long as you do her feet in the right order. (MARE) She is trimmed with a sander and isn't phased by the noise. She is up to date on all her shots, and feet are freshly done. I have made a guess on the weight - she is in good health, round but not over weight. She can be impatient with adults but with kids she is very forgiving and careful. She has tack if you are interested in that as well. Trailered fine here. I have no idea if she tolerates clipping, but she adores being bathed. She likes to try to play with the hose and likes to drink directly from it. She enjoys her naps, loves treats and gets vocal at dinner time. We will be sorry to see her go. She would make a great Christmas present!! Must go to a home or barn that includes children as she is happiest around little ones.

Strath Haven Ranch

I have a small family farm where we primarily go out on trail rides for pleasure. I'm currently selling our 40" pony in the hopes of finding a larger pony/small horse for my daughter who has outgrown the pony.
