“Bet On A High Cat”
Are you looking for a top notch gelding ? One that is mellow, yet a high performance prospect with a yes sir, yes ma’am attitude? This is your guy. He’s got every bit of talent in his breeding. Taking nothing but the positives from both sides. I’ve owned this gelding for about a year now, and have held on to him because I truly enjoy having him around. However, I am running out of stalls, so he needs to find his person.... (read more) Cowboy, as I call him, is 8 years old, AQHA registered with Highbrow Cat, Smart Little Lena, and Peppy San Badger on his papers. Need I say more? He’s got the look, he’s got the brains, and he’s got the training. Standing at 14.3H tall with a huge hip on him, nice size, & he’s dense, not little. Clean straight legs, solid feet, kind eye. Cowboy has been nothing but a pleasure to own. He’s got a personality of a lifetime. He’s the gelding in your barn that everyone will stop and watch because he will not let you leave without a smile. Great in a stall, great in a pasture. He comes right to the gate out on 5 acres ready to be loved on. Cowboy has extensive training starting out in cutting training, had a little break and then I put him to the test with trail trials, starting the pattern for barrels and poles. He will absolutely spin a hole in the ground. He plants his leg and goes. He can sit for months, pull him out a ride him, and you’ll have no problems. No lunging, no funny business. Cinch him up and go. Super simple neck rein, nice walk, trot, & lope. Picks up leads and stops, and he’s very responsive to cues. And then will go out on a leisure ride and dominate a trail course. Cowboy goes over bridges, logs, tarps, flags, hills, water, you name it, with no issues. This horse will go right through it. Rides bareback in a halter. Great to haul, great to bathe, fly spray, shoe, blanket, etc. He does have all 4 shoes on as our ground sucks. However, he goes barefoot just fine on normal ground. Bridles easy. Not scared of dogs, tractors, cars, etc. He will take care of you. If you can get up in the saddle and confidently point him where you want to go and what you want to do you, you will no doubt enjoy this horse. Junior rodeo, barrel prospect, sorting, team penning, gymkhana, go back to the cutting pen, heel horse, trail trials, just riding for fun, anything you’d want to do with him, I bet he’d succeed at. He’s a once in a lifetime kind of find. You’ll drive the wheels off your trailer trying to find one like him. Do not miss out, because I don’t mind keeping him here, however my husband will be really irritated if he has to keep adding onto my barn! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
