Chance is a stunning AQHA smokey buckskin gelding, standing at 15hh. He's built strong, stout and compact, with four strong and healthy feet. He's got kind eyes, a very sweet demeanor, is always the first one to meet you at the gate and easily one of the nicest horses to be around.
At 8 years old, Chance has been to and done a lot of different things, and handles whatever you put in front of him with maturity and a desire to go to work and learn.... (read more) He has been trail-ridden all over the place in different kinds of terrain, is surefooted in rocky country and goes out great by himself and with others.
He is well-broke in the arena and has a nice walk, trot, lope, side-pass, back-up, lead change, stop & spin. He neck reins well and will open and close gates, drag logs/tires, go over obstacles, pony other horses, jump, go through ditches and cross water. He will ride around in anything from a snaffle to a full bridle setup. He has been ridden English as well.
He has spent days working around the ranch and has helped gather, work and sort cattle, and spent three months with a team roping trainer at the beginning of this year. He has been roped off of, tracked and roped the dummy a bunch, and picks up whatever you are asking for in a hurry. He would make a really nice rope horse, penning/sorting horse, ranch versatility horse, and has shown potential on the barrel pattern as well.
Chance is absolutely lovely to be around and has the in-your-pocket personality, but is a gentleman about it. He loves giving kisses and is happy just hanging out together. He has great ground manners and stands for the farrier, to be tied, loads in the trailer, etc. He has four strong feet, my farrier has nothing but great things to say about them.
He is naturally more whoa than go, but certainly has the go when you ask for it/for certain events. He has had beginners on him and can get along great with beginners, as long as they're confident in what they want. He'd be best suited for intermediate rider and up, or a beginner working together with a trainer. He'd be an outstanding horse for an intermediate rider to learn and grow to the next level on or for an advanced rider to take and go show in any of the ranch events or go have fun on.
