I purchased Hayden three years ago as a companion horse to my gelding. He was a teenager's gaming horse and the trainer I bought him from was working on slowing him down. I brought him to another trainer, who tried the same. He wants to GO! He wants to work and loads right into the trailer. He has a wonderful personality and would make a great barrel horse.
I ride pleasure, so I don't ride him. My daughter is learning to ride on my other gelding, and Hayden gets really jealous.... (read more) My friend's daughter rode him in a local gaming show (they are practicing in the video) and they did great. He was so happy. They had an incident at the show where a runaway horse had a pop up tent attached to the saddle horn, and many horses spooked and reared. Not Hayden, he keep his rider safe (she was on his back at the time) and I was really proud!
I am selling him because he doesn't want to be a pasture mate. Due to his age he has a low and negotiable price. I want to make sure he goes to a good home. He is up to date on vaccinations, dewormer and coggins. His vice is being tied; the trainer I bought him from told me about it so I don't tie him often. I have been working on it with him by feeding him while tied and using a breakaway halter just in case.
I had Hayden and my other gelding separated until recently. I bought a filly, so they are back together. I had to separate them before because my other gelding was eating all his hay. He developed ulcers and got really sick, so I don't want them back together again. I am selling him in the hope that he will find a good home and get the attention he wants.
Also, his coat doesn't get as full as my other geldings' coat, so I blanket him in the winter. His is good about wearing it and doesn't try to take it off. Blanket is included in sale. I feed him senior feed twice daily and highly recommend it for him to keep his weight up. He is always trotting around my other horse, who looks like a fat wooly buffalo.
Also, I have been trying to get his papers from AQHA, but haven't been able to, since I don't have the signature of the seller. The teenager who owned him had a trainer sell him for her, and she sold him to me as grade. The previous owner contacted me through Facebook to let me know he is registered and sent the image of his papers. I believe the current owner listed is the one that sold him to the teenager (or her parents) and they never transferred the papers to them. At this point I am not going to contact AQHA again.
I don't have any additional images or video of him. I have many of my other gelding and daughter, but I don't ride Hayden. He wants to be ridden! Serious inquiries only please.
