Dream Trail Horse alert! Welcome Rugar from Tennessee! This big, strapping 16hh gelding is the perfect size and attitude to carry you down the trail with confidence. He is a solid field trials horse, from his former life in TN. He is exceptional with groups and riding out solo on the trail. He won't bat an eyelash if you need to leave your friends and if he does have a worried moment, his feet never leave the place they were in. He has been around traffic, loud barking dogs, bicycles, livestock, through water, over wooden bridges, and he is fine with it all.... (read more) He is happy to go first or last on the trail ride. Very adjustable and is able to do the running walk with minimal rein contact. Want to ride out with non-gaited friends? No problem!
His most recent adventure was horse camping in Yosemite this past September as the guest horse for a 230 pound rider that hasn't been riding in a few years. He was a star, covering a ten mile trail at 7000 elevation through the mountains and had no issues at camp.
Rugar is mannered on the ground for the farrier and getting in and out of the trailer. He stands tied like a dream with no fuss. He is happy to be caught out of the pasture and has been in a stall as well. He has no vices. Current x-rays are on hand and vet records as well.
