Meet Flyer he’s a registered Friesian Sport Horse. His registered name is Taking A Flyer On You. He sticks at 15.3 hands tall and still growing and filling out.... (read more) To describe him with one word I would use the word Gentle. He’s very gentle, laid back, docile, and quiet. He’s very easy to work with and aims to please you. He has a puppy dog like personality extremely friendly wants to be in your pocket. He’s so easy and quiet to work with that he trains just like a dog he knows how to lay down, heel, stay, and come when called. He’ll hop up or over any big obstacle you ask of him. He does NOT scare easily. He’s great with all kinds of traffic.
Flyer is used to dogs and doesn’t mind picking them up and giving them rides around. He knows the lay down cue so he’ll lay down and pick you up if you need. He also stands still for mounting at the mounting block or from the ground. He has a very smooth lope and will pop right into it right off of a walk. He picks up both leads and knows how to move off of your leg. Stops well off of your seat and has a good back up.
Flyer is the type of horse that really wants to please you and is also very smart and catches on quick. I could see him doing well as a lesson horse or going into dressage as he just has that very gentle quiet disposition. He’s very safe has never offered to do anything crazy I would trust him in an arena giving lessons because he has that very laid back easy going personality and he’s very forgiving. And he’s very safe again he does NOT spook easily.
Out on trails he does excellent he doesn’t care a bit about the wildlife turkeys, deer, swans, porcupines, etc. He crosses any creek, river, logs, or bridges. He has an old soul for a young horse I would almost dare to call him a beginner horse, but I won’t just because he’s still young and learning. I cannot stress it enough how quiet and gentle he is and that is why I wouldn’t hesitate one second to have him give someone lessons on in an arena because I trust him that well. And he’ll do a trail obstacle course at the barn for you too if you like to do the obstacle courses.
And he’s not your typical horse that needs a job 24/7. I have let him sit a couple of weeks and get him out and he was the same horse that I forgot about for a couple of weeks. Now I’m not going to say let him sit he’s a smart puppy and he loves to have a job and wants to learn more and please you so don’t forget about him. He’s very people friendly and loves all the attention he can get. He walks right up to the fence anytime he sees me coming near. So he loves attention and has that loving big dog personality.
If you come see to him and you don’t fall in love with his soul after meeting him I think you’re crazy I just can’t say enough about how sweet he is. He wins anyone over right away at first meet and greet. So come check him out if you are interested you won’t be disappointed. I forgot to mention he’ll ride double if you want and he doesn’t care a bit if he is left in the back of the pack when you are out riding. He’ll separate on the trail too and rides away from home alone. HE has NO bad habits, vices, or special maintenance. He stands excellent for the Ferrier and he can go shod or unshod. Gets along out in the herd doesn’t matter if it’s with mares or geldings.
He loads right up in the trailer and backs out fine. Stands quiet when tied and he cross ties. Good for tacking up. He’s been started the right way with natural horsemanship training and a little bit of liberty work. He has the trail miles under his cinch. He has a been there done that type of attitude. I’m sure you can see from his videos how quiet he is and if you come see him in person you will fall in love right away. But don’t pass him up if he’s this good and impressive now think how much more so he’ll be in another 2 years. He’s 15.3 hands now could finish out over 16 hands and defiantly will bulk out more yet. His full brother was built the same way and the same personality at the same age and now that full brother is over 16 hands and very bulked out.
And with Flyer you are starting with a horse that has the right training and does have a history. He was bred and raised right on the farm has a few siblings out there. His Dad was well known for throwing babies with good minds and quiet temperaments and he’s the last out of his dad the stallion sadly passed away due to old age. So he comes from good stock. He has a current Coggins, vet check, Vaccines, and dewormings. Please call me if you want to schedule to come see him or if you have any interest I’d love to talk our phone number
