Axel is a 17hh, 9 y/o OTTB gelding who would much rather live an easy trail life instead of doing lessons which is what we bought him for. Our arena is smaller and he has a big stride which I think plays into the laziness.

He is super sweet and loves attention, comes when called.
He rides in a bit or bitless and is not spooky, crosses obstacles easily. Loads up well and stands for vet and farrier (front shoes, hot) no problem. Harder keeper.... (read more)

Axel has some finer buttons - if you don't know the difference between a trot cue and a walk-to-canter cue it won't be a good fit. Rides English or Western.

He has been chiropracted several times and is feeling good with lighter riders, seems to get back sore with riders above 140lbs.

Would be a great first horse for someone working with a trainer who understands ottb minds.
