**PRICE RECENTLY REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE** Up for consideration - Woody - A 19 year old, chestnut gelding, Tennessee Walker. Don't let his age fool you! This boy still has loads of energy, stamina, and "go" in him. Available to take home Thanksgiving week - a great early Christmas present.
This has been my trail partner for the last 4 years and he is ready for his next home and riding buddy! He is loyal, brave, and an honest ride.... (read more) Not only is he a great trail horse, but he is also fun to school in the arena and even cut cows. He walks, trots, canters and will gallop if you ask him. He has all 3 buttons well developed (forequarters, ribs, hindquarters), can side pass, back up, rollback, collect at the head and neck for the walk/trot, cross obstacles, carry flags, bend around your leg, open gates, or just walk in a straight line, tried and true, down a long dirt road.
He's an easy keeper, barefoot and trimmed every 6 weeks. Stands quietly for bathing, braiding, saddling, mounting, dismounting, clipping, and children. Been in our lesson program for beginners and earned $11,050 for the barn in 2 years. Easy to trailer and will go out alone or in a group. Low man on the totem pole and minds his own business. Has never offered to bolt, buck, kick, strike, or bite. Stands straight or crosstied.
His vices include dragon breathing for the vet and farrier but he's all talk - once they get started, he simmers down quickly. Can be hard to catch at first but once he knows the routine and trusts you, he's all yours. Allergiv to peppermint and Florida flies around his eyes but nothing a fly mask won't fix.
He's UTD on all vaccines, annual teeth floating and can easily pass a PPE. Has never collic'd in our care. Has had ulcers in the past but not while in our care.
PPS welcome at buyers expense.
Purchase comes with a crash course lesson on what he knows, a negative coggins test for travel and a certificate of health. Will also body clip for purchaser at request.
Located in Apopka, FL and can arrange shipping for additional charge.
*Woody was originally listed with a “3” temperament but has been adjusted to a “7” because we misinterpreted the scale and thought “10” was hot and “1” was cold.
