Cricket is a beautiful bay QH filly that is VERY well started!!! She has been used on a ranch for day work and has drug calves, done flag work, and been used as a turnback horse. Cricket has had lots of riding and rides like a MUCH older horse.... (read more) She rides on a loose one-hand neck rein, has a good backup, and stop. She is very smooth at the walk, trot, and canter. She will ride the same way, every time you ride her, whether she's rode every day or a few times a month. We have given her several days off and she is great, and rides right off.
Cricket has no problem carrying a flag, opening/closing gates, riding on our trials, over bridges, over the teeter-totter, walking in water/mud, down streams, in the woods, through thick brush, over fallen trees, up/down/across deep ditches and ravines, in the woods with no spook.
Cricket will stand still while being clipped, bathed, groomed, fly sprayed, picking her feet, for the vet or farrier, and while being bridled and saddled. She stands still for mounting (from the ground or from a mounting block), she stands tied to the trailer, fence and in the cross ties, she loads and hauls very well. She is very gentle, with great ground manners, has always been easy to catch, is kid and dog friendly, and gets along well with all of our other horses (mares and geldings alike) she has not been "mare-ish".
Cricket will be a great prospect for absolutely ANYTHING and she can go any direction, ie; trail riding, trail competitions, ranch sorting, team penning, roping, goat tying, grand entry, playdays, little britches, barrels, poles, drill team, parades, polo, queen's contest, walk-trot, lead line, or as a lesson horse. This is a young horse that really could grow up with your already riding child as a step-up horse that can take them through college and beyond.
Cricket is a cute bay mare standing 14.3hh right now and will probably mature to over 15hh. She has great conformations, with a pretty head, sweet face with a kind eye. She has a good neck, and shoulder, nice withers, a straight back, a wide chest, with that big QH butt.
