This horse may be little, but he has a heart the size of Texas. If you are looking for a handy ranch gelding that isn’t too far off the ground, then take a look at Razor. He is a 12 year old gelding, 13.3hh and absolutely cute as can be. Perfectly built with a big hip, wide chest, and 4 black feet, he is stout enough to carry a man all day long. Razor came off of a big ranch out in West Texas, where he had been for most of his life. He has been used for all phases of ranch work, including dragging calves, doctoring cattle out in the pasture, and sorting pairs.... (read more) Razor has also been heeled off of and has done some team sorting. He is quick footed and has an excellent handle, and is very fun to ride. Razor is an excellent ranch horse but also enjoys a leisurely ride down the trails. He is so athletic he would also excel in the arena as a performance horse. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and has no trouble keeping up with the big horses. Razor is sensitive and very responsive, and is better suited to an experienced rider. He has a good work ethic and doesn’t mind putting in a full days work, and has a big motor when asked for it. Razor is good on both leads, will sidepass and work a gate. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and is very kind and willing, but can be just a bit watchy on the ground. Razor is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He has been taught to travel out in the pasture and can really cover some ground. He has good ground manners, stands quietly tied, is perfect for the shoer, and gets along great in a herd. Razor will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
