Tex is a 12 year old 14 hand QH gelding. He’s a great size to fit many different riders. He is broke well & soft in the bridle. You can choose what to ride him in - from a snaffle, bosal, halter or plain neck rope. He’s been ridden in a field, cross-country field, GGT area & sand/clay arena. Tex even has even been ridden under the lights at night.
This is one that will stay soft in the face & collect up well.... (read more) He’s currently turned out in a group (mares & geldings) but will turn out alone too and he stalls well. You can climb all over him, stand, slide, pull his tail, go underneath him, and any other shenanigans you can think of. He will walk across tarps and you can crack a bull whip off him! Tex knows the word “woah”. We’ve had all ages & levels of riders on him. This gelding is broke both Western and English. He goes around a jump course with a lead change. The lope/ canter is so well balanced it’s like riding a cloud. He’s a dream out on the Cross Country course. Tex jumps the gates, logs, ditches, ditches, roll top etc. He will jump anything you put in front of him, from any spot or distance. Tex will even do a jump bridleless! He is great out on the trail and has even taken a trip to the beach! He loved cooling off from the hot Florida sun and dipping his hooves into the water.
Tex has also successfully completed a hunter pace with an amateur rider. Tex is used to being around all kind of animals, none in which have phased him. He’s been around cows, dogs, mini ponies, mini cattle, donkeys etc. Tex did not change a bit when a pony stallion came running straight at him bucking and kicking loose in a pasture. Tex faced him fearlessly without any change in his demeanor or personality. He remained completely unfazed. He will load up & unload without any issues. Goes into a head to head trailer, slant or stock trailer. He cross ties and will stand tied single.
