I purchased Peaches in 2020 when she came off the track with plans to make her my daughter’s step-up horse. With major life changes and an out of state move we were set back a bit.
The upside is she has had years of regular chiro, body work and living the good life of a pampered mare. Downside, she’s still pretty green for being 9. I have lacked the time, skill and confidence to bring her along much further.
She’s very brave.... (read more) She loves to ride out in the field at our barn. She is one of the top mares in her herd but shes not mean about it, just assertive. She is gorgeous and is willing if you ask gently and respectfully. She prefers a rider with soft hands.
We haven’t been working in contact too much. She is happy on a longer, lighter rein. We walk, trot and seldomly canter. (She could use more canter work under saddle) She does great on the lunge line. I have plenty of video of her beautiful canter on the line.
I think she would do great with a confident teen or adult rider. Someone who likes to ride maybe a couple times a week. Again, I can’t say how she’d do in a rigorous program because I haven’t been able to keep her on one. She has jumped some here and there and is very brave and willing. Again, nothing really concerns her.
It’s hard for me to post this, but it is clear she and I are not a good match and at this time in her life, I truly want her to find her person.
Price negotiable to the best home.
