This sweet little mare is a wonderful trail horse. She came to our barn in August after her owner's heart problems kept him from riding her for the past 4 years. Her exact age is unknown (equine now required a foal date, but we do not know) Her previous owner had her for 10 years and she was under saddle when he got her, so she is likely in her teens, but looks great and does not seem old. We have been getting her back into condition and tuned up and she is ready for her new home.... (read more) So far she has done well with our smaller riders (under 130 lbs) who can already walk and trot and have a little confidence. She is a bit resistant with heavier riders so we will not sell her to be ridden at this point by someone over 130 lbs. With more conditioning she should be ok. She rides in a halter, and we're told she is also fine in a mild snaffle. She has been used in parades and gone all over doing trail rides. We have been using her as a lesson horse both english and western. She has good manners and is easy to handle all except once in a while she pulls back when she is tied or being held. We have been teaching her to give to pressure and she is making good progress. No other vices, not spooky. No kick, no bite, no buck. Does well with farrier and is up to date on trims. Currently barefoot. Gets along well with other horses. We've had no issues trailering or loading her. Contact me for video and more pictures.
