Ben is a 4-year-old gaited mule. He is 14.3 hands. He is intelligent, loving, and has a strong desire to please. He truly enjoys being around people. Ben is so many things.... (read more) Most notably, he is caring, affectionate, kind, dependable, respectful, safe, and gentle. Ben is a mule the entire family can enjoy. He’s the mule that everyone wants to ride, no surprises. Ben is a rare find; it would be hard to find another one like him. He is an all-around mule. That feeling of safety and security in having a dependable mule is usually unattainable, but with Ben, it is if you’re looking for the perfect gated mule. He is always quiet and trustworthy when riding out alone or with a group of horses in the front, middle, or back of the pack. He doesn’t get excited or anxious. He could care less when other horses or mules take off ahead of him. He has been written everywhere! I honestly don’t believe there’s anything he hasn’t encountered. Ben is totally relaxed with you in the saddle, and he rides with a spur, sometimes needed because he’s so laid back. Please don’t take that the wrong way.; Where you’d like him to ride with or without a spur. He is surefooted on trail and honest; he will walk through ditches, cross creeks, up mountains across logs and bridges, and go in deep or shallow water. The children can crawl all over Ben, and he doesn’t mind. He loves the attention. One of my favorite things about him is his gentle, safe nature and sweet, loving, in-your-pocket personality. Don’t worry about having trouble mounting.
Ben will side pass up for you to mount or dismount. Stepstool ladder, bucket, mounting block, fence gate, log, concrete boulder, or tailgate. He would be a great hunting mule. He’s wonderful with dogs around him and pays them with no mind. Ben willingly picks up all four feet and stands quietly for the Ferrier, clipping, tacking up, and bathing. He loads in the trailer with no issues and backs out perfectly. The kids can even load and unload him. He also hauls quietly and stands quietly with a no-nonsense pawing or an anxious attitude about him. He is just truly a wonderful mule to be around.
Ben is well-trained. He has a small saddle gait and will lope when asked. He side passes and is back on command. He has been ridden in town and is ultimately traffic-safe. He pays no mind to barking dogs, motorcycles, cars, trucks, lawnmowers, tractors, or the noise of any other commotion he encounters. You can also shoot a gun or crack whips off of Ben. He is almost bombproof. If you’re looking for a genuine, safe, equine partner. Please feel free to come and ride Ben. He can be your forever mule. I’m sure you will fall in love with his sweet personality!
