Zarafina “Zivah” is a 2019, 16.2hh American Warmblood by Blue Zephyr (Bratt Z x Ulani) and out of Zoe G (Pilgrim x Ginger). Her great grandsire, Baloubet de Rouet, has won three consecutive World Cup finals and two Olympic medals. Zoe G is a Friesian mare that excelled in the UConn riding program and retired to produce several quality foals within the breeding program. The wonderful combination of successful jumper bloodlines and the high-set neck and powerful hindquarters characteristic of the Friesian breed lead Zivah to have a bright future.
Zivah has three ground-covering, comfortable gaits, both on the lunge and under saddle. She has gone both English and Western, and shows promise in either direction. She stands to be groomed, tacked, and for the farrier. Although she can be a little cautious of the vet, she has an outgoing personality that is highly trainable. With continued training, this big-bodied mare is a solid dressage, hunter, or trail prospect for an amateur looking to bring along a young horse with the support of a trainer.
