THIS KID TRULY ROCKS aka Shimmer is a 4y/o registered AQHA grulla mare prospect. Shimmer has three smooth gates that are incredibly comfortable to sit with a low headset. When she was started she could be a bit anxious/spooky under saddle but has gained an enormous amount of confidence since, however, she still got some improving to do. She’s been on trail and through water and done very well- took everything in stride. She stops nicely (and immediately) on her hind end and is soft and very responsive to cues (and only getting better!... (read more) ). She’s got nice ground manners and a very lovable personality. I cannot say enough good things about this mare, lots of promise for something like western pleasure. She moves off the leg incredibly well, we tend to warm up with minimal or without rein cues. She rides bareback and has just as much go as you’ll ask from her. She has been trained using Buck Brannaman and natural horsemanship methods. She was recently hauled off site for a lesson and did pretty darn well in a new environment and hauled very well. This girl is going to make one heck of a horse, her price will continue to increase as she improves (and she improves rapidly). I use her for advanced beginner riders in lessons and I’m sure she could tote around a beginner or two but would be best in the ownership of an intermediate+ rider. I truly feel like she could go any direction. She would do very well with a person looking to continue a horse’s education wherever that may be as this mare has a thirst for knowledge, that being said, she is not one to be cowboyed, if you show her the way she will try for you.
