Rory is a stout built Chestnut Overo horse standing around 15.1hh . Since owning Rory he has been used at the stockyards to pen cattle, we’ve had him out in the pasture gathering cattle and he has roped a couple as well. He has been started on the roping dummy and is doing a good job tracking it. He knows his way around the ranch and has plenty of cow sense. Rory is an excellent horse to take for a relaxing trail ride as he is great on trails and he will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas.... (read more) He has a smooth jog, a VERY VERY nice easy to set lope, a good stop, turns a circle both ways and backs with ease! Rory has had some reining training and would be an excellent horse to enter the show pen in the ranch horse classes. He rides with his head low and will keep a loose/draped rein. He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife. He will go up or down steep slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. He has been ridden through town and is safe in traffic is not spooky. Rory is an excellent horse for any job around the ranch or trails!
