If you are looking for a horse to throw out on your ranch and pull up a few times a week, or even just a few times a year, to work cattle and check fences, then take a look at Midnight. He is an extremely well broke ranch gelding, and has been on one ranch in Montana for most of his life. Midnight is 14.3hh and very nicely built, with plenty of bone and good hard feet. He is 18 years old but he doesn’t know it, and he still has plenty of go and will to work when he is asked.... (read more) He has been used for all phases of ranch work, including dragging calves, doctoring cattle out in the pasture, and sorting pairs. Midnight has an excellent one handed neck rein, a light mouth and good stop, he is good on both leads, and will sidepass and work a gate as well as any horse we’ve ever had. He is gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and has excellent ground manners as well. Midnight is the kind of horse you can catch out in the pasture and saddle up without a warm up, and not have to worry that he is going to buck you off on a cold morning. He is an excellent trail horse as well, crosses water with no problem, isn’t spooky , and he is very sure footed. Midnight will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He has been taught to travel out in the pasture and can really cover some ground. He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, is perfect for the shoer, and gets along great in a herd. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. CHECK OUT HIS VIDEO AT: Watch Youtube Video Asking $4500. Midnight does have a bump on the front of his right front pastern from an old injury, but it does not affect his ability to be ridden or cause him any discomfort.
