I got “JR” about a year ago in bad condition. He was skinny and had hooves in bad shape and neglected. I was told he was an 8 year old QH but my vet confirmed he was around 20. I think he looks more standardbred to me than QH. He has gained a lot of weight since being in my care but his top line is still lacking. In the last year I have rode him a handful of times. He rides off in a hackamore or halter walk trot lope. I would recommend an experienced rider as he is rusty and hasn’t been rode in a few months now.... (read more) From the little riding I have done on him, he is very well broke and very calm on the trail. Only selling because I have two small children and need one less mouth to feed. He wasn’t a horse I was looking for, got him out of a bad situation and want him to go to a forever home. He is about 16hh. He is good around kids, large dogs and chickens. Very sweet and respectful. He is a costly horse to feed, he is currently on senior, alfalfa pellets and quality 2nd crop hay to maintain his weight. Teeth were checked in February and hoofcare is up to date. Price is negotiable.
