Rhodey is a 14 year old, 15.3 hand John mule. He is as quiet and gentle as they come as well as friendly and in your pocket. Rhodey has had extensive training throughout his life and is a joy to ride. He walks, jogs, and lopes nicely. He rides gathered up and soft in the bridle like one should.... (read more) One step and he’s in a rocking chair lope. He neck reins and works off the leg. Backs and side passes nicely. He’s been shown in local horse shows and is competitive against the horses. You can open and close gates with him. As for trail riding, he is a dream. He goes through deep water, isn’t afraid of deer or turkeys when coming across them. He steps over logs and will leave the group when asked. He also rides out alone. Rhodey is traffic safe if you need to ride on the road or want to take a quick ride through town. There isn’t a way to ride him wrong. Bareback, with a saddle, or 2 or 3 kids lined up down his back. He is fun and a mule you can trust! He stands nicely for the farrier, is easy to clip, ties well and travels nicely. Rhodey is not a mule you have to ride everyday. You can give him the entire winter off and when you come back to ride him in the spring, he is just the same as he was at the end of summer.
