This gorgeous boy is Cadence, he is a 12 year old gelding who stands 14.2-14.3 and is the sweetest prettiest boy with the most laid back and loving disposition. He has one blue eye and the other is a light hazel color very unique and he is considered a grulla and has darkened up since we have him in a shaded area with a dark line down his back.
Cadence would make a beginner or someone needing EXTREMELY safe a wonderful addition! He is definitely more whoa then go but will pick it up when he is asked but his preferred speed is a calm, low headed relaxed walk he has a very smooth trot and lope and is like riding a Cadillac.... (read more) He has been ridden to town in the day and night, beside traffic and the highway at night with cars flying by, ZERO spook, ridden to gas stations, up and down stairs, loves water, crosses logs, carries flags, been on miles of trails, overnight rides, sorted cattle, dragged a few and been roped on around the ranch, he has also had some rifles shot off of him and we are trying to find a place to take him to get videos of that.
I rode him to town recently and will upload the video link as soon as possible and will attach to the bottom of this description of me throwing a lariat rope and swinging it on him at night beside the Highway with cars passing, I even got the rope hung up on his back leg at one point and he never even flinched he just kept walking as if nothing had happened. Cadence loves to be loved on, catches you when he sees you, loves kids, dogs don’t faze him, he’s been ridden on a lot of ranches, currently housed with our 2 year old pet big Bull, a 7 month old filly and a little stud colt and doesn’t have an ugly bone in his body to any of them. He is an absolute pleasure and dream to ride and be around as he is so easy going with everything and doesn’t get worked up over anything! He isn’t buddy sour and will ride off alone or with other horses. I don’t except him to be with us long as horses as beautiful as he is and gentle are harder and harder to find. If we get to meet, you’ll see at least a few of the scars I ended up with from those “Safe” horses because they are on my face…….
I have many more scars and have broken or fractured every limb at least once, broken ribs, dislocations, concussions, tailbone broken multiple times, back and neck injuries that are still with me and cause me a lot of pain to this day.
Starting out my parents did the best they knew to do and believed people when they claimed the horses were safe for me, we didn’t have a lot of money and they didn’t have the years of experience needed to know the difference or what to look for that truly makes a good “Safe Family Horse”
My goal is ALWAYS to match the right horse or horses with the right level of rider, to ensure the horses have good forever homes and my buyers are extremely happy and are as equipped as possible with everything they and their horse needs for their forever success and happiness with their new family! I sell multiple horses to families that I pair or fit together who ride well together, get along with each other etc.
I also sale saddles and the tack you’ll need that will properly fit you and your horse, if you don’t have it so you are 100% ready to go ride once you get them home! If you have found a horse for sale with someone else that you like but are unsure if it will actually be a good match for you, I will personally travel to look at and ride the horse for you after getting to know you and will let you know if it will be a good match. I want to see people enjoy good horses and if I can help prevent a bad situation by providing advice, I am happy to help! Just because someone has been riding all their life or has been selling horses, has a horse for sale they have had for a while doesn’t technically qualify them to know if that horse is truly a beginner safe or family safe type horse. As previously mentioned, it takes years to be able to identify things and can be extremely dangerous to purchase from someone who isn’t a trained professional in the specific type of horse you are looking for! It is especially important that you are experienced and know what to look for or that you purchase from someone experienced, reputable and honest because one bad horse could cost you more than you ever want to imagine.
Be cautious in your search and please do not hesitate to call or text me if there is anything I can help you with. EVEN, if that means that you don’t purchase a horse from me! I mean that genuinely! Most of my customers are complete beginners and the majority are over the age of 65 and quite a few have even become close friends, a few of them even insist on being bonus grandparents to my young children, which I LOVE!
It breaks my heart to hear the stories of those who have been deceived like me and my family who ended up hurt or taken advantage of!
