This is Stan...a big, stout Paint gelding.
15 hands tall, 16 yrs old.
He has spent the last 10 years at a trail stable doing guided rides, they decided to do some downsizing, so here he is.
He tacks up well, stands for mounting.
He has a ground covering walk, a smooth jog, he will trot out and we have gotten him to lope....keep in mind, those guided trail horses are rarely asked to do more than walk.
Stan is not hard to ride, but since he has been hauling TOTAL beginners around, he knows how to see if you are a rider or a passenger.... (read more) There is no foolishness, anyone with basic knowledge and confidence should do fine with him. He does ride better with another horse, but we have had him out alone.

We buy and sell horses and ponies. There are several of us who work with all the animals and evaluate them, figure out their personalities and quirks, and let's be honest, they all have them. We are very honest about what we are selling and tell all the behaviors we have noticed while they are with us. Key words being "while they are with us." If you take them home, feed 10 gallons of grain, don't ride them and let them get away with every bad behavior possible, we can't help that when their behavior changes.
