Apache is a 15hh (sticked), 12 year old Appaloosa gelding (not registered). This stunning boy catches everyone's eye and is a total love bug who likes to be involved with whatever you are doing. He is up to date on shots, trims (barefoot), and deworming. Good ground manners and patient when tied. He has mostly been used as a trail horse and goes through water, swampy footing, bush, and tough terrain.... (read more) Will lead or follow on a trail ride. He has been exposed to some mountain trail obstacles and would probably enjoy doing more of that. Good in traffic and around zooming dogs. I've ridden him at all gaits in the arena and while he's not extensively trained in flatwork, he had a nice slow jog and picked up both leads at the lope with some urging. He was a little more woah than go in the arena, but he strides out nicely on the trail, where his heart is. He would be best suited to an intermediate rider, as he can need convincing that you're running the show at times, but a confident youth age 14+ or an adult amateur with support would do fine I think. No buck/bolt/rear. He is the type that can sit for a while and then jump on and he's going to be quiet.

He is usually higher in the pecking order and can be a little bossy in small paddocks, but does well in a larger area with others. Currently living in a paddock with a mare who he likes, but has been in a mixed herd with both geldings and mares in a large space. He is an easy keeper, so would do better on monitored hay daily than on pasture or free feeding.
