Khozmo Sweet DSC (Khozmo)
Khozmo is a 2024 bay colt foaled on May 27th. Out of a Grade Palomino Paint Horse Mare, Sweet Like Honey. Although Honey is not registered, her bloodlines on both sides are known (will share below). Khozmo is sired Canada’s National Arabian Champion, Khiss My Mojo.
Khozmo is our ‘lazy’ baby of the year. He is quiet and unbothered by many things although still very lively and curious about life.... (read more) He has a well balanced and correct build with solid bone and joints. Already his gaits look coordinated and smooth. He will likely mature to around 15 hands (give or take). With the trainability and disposition of both his parents there is no doubt Khozmo will make an excellent kids/youth/adult ammy/husband horse when matured and trained however he will also have the work ethic and athleticism to excel in the show ring. He is a great working western, ranch, dressage or sport horse prospect.
Dam info:
SWEET LIKE HONEY is a 2014 solid palomino Paint Horse. Honey herself has a good resume and is well loved by everyone in the barn. She’s as friendly as she is sweet! Honey has been shown in the Western Dressage ring constantly scoring in the 60’s with an adult amateur, has been a school horse for beginners and intermediates but is also an enjoyable mount for more advanced riders, loves to go out on the trail and has even been trusted to pilot my mom around. She is easy to handle and is just an extremely trustworthy horse.
Khozmo is Honey’s third foal and so far Honey has passed along her friendly and curious nature, easy going personality and willingness. Her foals are quiet and naturally very comfortable with tractors, herd dynamics and learning new things. Her oldest offspring is only 2 so none are undersaddle yet.
Stallion info:
Khiss My Mojo is not only a dream to ride and train due to his great personality, smarts and willing to please attitude but he is also a Canadian Champion. With only one show season under his belt he was 2022 Canada’s National Arabian Champion in SHIH with an amateur handler.
Mojo is easy going and quiet natured and when he understands a concept he holds it and finds more confidence in himself. He learns quickly and really thinks about what you're asking him to do instead of getting stressed out when he doesn't understand. He can be shy with strangers but really appreciates and shows his personality with the people he works with and knows. He consistently comes into the barn being respectful with an excellent work ethic.
Mojo has great symmetrical feet with correct angles, a beautiful typey face, that is not overly dished, balanced body, straight legs and correct and very rideable gaits. The odd chance he spooks at something, his response is very minimal. He takes new sights and sounds in stride and handled the show grounds as a young horse like a pro.
Although Mojo’s first foal crop is only a year old he has shown to produce foal that have more refined faces than their dam and add lightness to the gaits. His foals have straight legs, beautiful eyes and they get his shoulder (which is always complimented on his judging cards). They are not foals that are trouble makers who try to kick at you or push on you. They can be described as “meek” due to the fact that they can be cautious (not flighty) until they build a bond with their people, however once they have that bond established they are super cooperative, and curious about new things and really put their trust in you. They’re athletic, lively, smart as they catch on to things quickly and not spooky about things babies would usually be worried about. I have received numerous compliments from people who are strangers to them on how naturally polite, quiet and friendly they are.
