If you are looking for an exceptionally well -bred, well-trained, smooth traveling, and fun to ride horse you should consider this one. With HIGH BROW CAT, HIGH BROW HOCKORY, GAY BAR KING and DOC O’LENA right on his papers it is no accident he is as good as he is! DJ is a very attractive APHA 12 year old, 15.1 hand Sorrel Tobiano gelding. He is super gentle and good natured. An absolute pleasure to ride and be around. He is responsive and moves with ease from your leg and hand cues.... (read more) Soft in the face and holds collection well. This is a very classy moving horse with a good one hand neck rein, a nice slow collected jog and will lope out of his tracks on cue. Takes his leads, does lead changes, has a great stop, backs soft and will roll back over his hocks. Side passes with ease for operating the gates. DJ has been used on the ranch for all ranch horse chores and is also a finished heel horse. He is also fun and handy to sort cattle on. Outstanding to ride out anywhere from our rugged mountain trails to our busy urban streets. When riding around our neighborhood DJ is solid and settled. He’s good about all the things we encounter. Farm animals, cars, trucks and motorcycles speeding by, as well and the dogs that run up at us barking. On the trails he is sure footed, picks his way through the rocky river bottom and handles our steep, rugged terrain like the good ranch horse that he is. Will lead, follow, ride quietly in a group or out on his own. He crosses the river, small creeks, downed timber and trail bridge with confidence and ease. DJ would be a great horse for a lot of different riding activities. Trail riding, ranch work, team roping on the heeling side, drill team, Ranch, Pleasure, dressage, team sorting and Gymkhana are just a few that come to mind. This is a get along kind of horse turned out with all other horses. He’s always gentle and stays gentle with time off. He is good about everything we do with him and has no vices or bad habits and is 100% safe sane and sound. This is the kind of horse I would keep for myself if I kept a personal horse. We ride hundreds of horses every year and there are few and far between like this one. Sold! Sorry you missed him. We have others so feel free to give us a call and see if we have a match for you! Happy trails!
