Durango is a 4 year old Draft x Quarter Horse cross gelding that stands right at 16 hands tall and has that gorgeous palomino color. We have had the opportunity to own and train Durango for the past year and a half and we did not regret one minute of it. Durango is what we call a true gentleman. He has that kind and friendly look to him every time you walk up to him. Durango is safe for any level of rider on the trails or in the arena. He is safe for the kids all the way up to Grandma and Grandpa.... (read more) He will walk trot and lope a nice circle both directions, knows his leads, stays nice and soft to the bit and works of your seat and leg cues. He has done some obstacle courses and will cross the obstacles with confidence. He has done most of his work on the trails with us. He has been hauled to state parks and wagon trains in Ohio. He has traveled to Colorado and worked in the mountains as well so he knows how to take care of his rider in the rough country. If you get tired of riding Durango that's not a problem at all he is trained to drive as well. He will pull any cart or buggy you hook behind him. He has pulled a covered wagon. He has pulled our buggy to church on Sunday mornings. He has pulled farm equipment, such as manure spreader, hay mower, hay baler with a loud motor running right behind him and that did not face him one bit. He is safe on the road and in heavy traffic he stays his normal sweet self. He is the kind of guy that likes to be loved and does good in big crowds of people. Durango truly is a kind hearted gentleman. He is up to date on all his vaccinations, dewormer, dental care, and farrier. Durango has been a maintenance free horse for us the whole time we've had him.
