Karo is a sweet, very good-looking 15 year old bay gelding with straight legs, a stout build, and strong feet. He'd make a great ranch horse, rope horse prospect, or partner for the serious trail rider. He stands 15.1hh.
Despite Karo being 15, he's very young in body since he's only gotten restarted and ridden consistently under saddle this summer. I got him from the lady who bred him; she's in her 80s now and ran a horse and cow breeding operation; she had Karo started by a guy who had started two of her other horses, but unfortunately this guy didn't really know what he was doing and got in a wreck with those two horses before also getting in a wreck with Karo.... (read more) Karo got turned out to pasture and ended up through no fault of his own on the back burner and never got restarted under saddle due to his owner's advancing age, while he was with them.
He got restarted under saddle by a professional trainer and has done phenomenal. He has been ridden out on the trails extensively, has ponied young horses, swam through the salt river, ridden in arenas, tracked and roped the roping dummy, and has now been roping live cattle on both ends for a number of weeks. He ties, loads in the trailer easily, gets along well with other horses, and is a sweet horse to be around. Having said that, he's not a beginners horse. Karo would do best with a knowledgeable, confident rider as he's still learning and building his confidence and will still rely on his rider's confidence to remain confident in himself. He is steadily improving in every area of riding with every ride and he'd make a great horse for someone who can give him a ranch job, someone who wants a rope horse that's been started in roping and can finish out his training that way, or someone who's ready to hit the trails regularly.
Karo is still in training with the trainer and will remain in training until sold.
If you'd like more information, pictures or videos of him, feel free to reach out to me. I can put you in touch with the trainer to come try him out!
