Price Reduced!!! Looking for his new home.

Nelson is a 17 year old Percheron/QH cross gelding. Selling as Grade, 100% sound at WTC. He is currently being used as a companion for a couple of stud colts. Nelson is the best herdmaster: top of the pecking order and very diplomatic. Keeps the stud colts in check and is overall very well-meaning. In the past, he has been ridden around the farms that he’s been at and has been just fine.... (read more) We personally have not had the time to ride him, and will not in the foreseeable future, which is why he is available. Good with farrier and vet.

A couple quirks:

He doesn’t like the inside of his mouth messed with so it takes some patience to deworm him and bit him, but he rides bitless just fine!

He doesn’t hard tie, but he shows great aptitude for learning how to ground tie!

He doesn’t load very well and will need a lot of work with loading and getting used to your trailer, but when he’s on he does trailer very calmly and quietly!

He’s a fantastic gelding and will make someone a really nice horse with a little bit of work and patience.

No, we do not have riding video and are too busy to get some, but we will entertain visitation. He is not causing any problems here on the farm and he is welcome to stay, but we do not have time to work him through his quirks, and are open to someone else taking him on if it’s a good fit!
