Lulu is a very experienced trail partner, confident on both groomed trails and bushwhacking. I have been trail riding her for several years. She rides with a halter only and is quite comfortable without a bit, though she will take one if asked. Also, she has been barefoot for as long as I have had her and has very healthy feet.

She has a good, strong walk and is very willing to pick up the pace. She would benefit from a strong rider who can keep her from accelerating too much.... (read more) She has lovely movement and has done some foundational dressage work. She does liberty work in the round pen and is good at connection for ground based mental health therapy work.

She is an older girl, and has a resting cranky-face, but is actually pretty sweet most of the time. She's not a pocket pony, but can be caught pretty easily and responds well on a lead rope.

On the trail she is generally well mannered, though she occasionally startles at sudden deer or bird appearances.

My husband and I do not need 3 horses, and our two geldings are a better match for our current riding needs. We love Lulu and really want her to find the right match for her needs.

Health-wise, she is in good shape for a mare her age. The vet thinks she might have a little arthritis in her neck, but she responds well to stretching (especially for a treat between her legs!) and some grain supplements. She was just floated and has a current Coggins test.

Color-wise, she is grey on grey paint (also known as "Ghost paint"). You can really see her pattern when she is wet or in the summer when her hair is thinner and shorter.

Their natural language is body language and they can often tell us about things going on in our bodies long before we realize what is happening. As social creatures they are invested in the well being of the herd and therefore work hard to co-regulate those around them.
