Onyx is a 4 year old, 15.3hh percheron cross mare. Onyx is as sweet and easy as could be both on the ground and under saddle. She was recently started under saddle and has been incredibly easy. She has three comfortable, nicely balanced gaits. She’s currently doing basic flatwork WTC in the arena and trail rides quietly alone or with company. She’s the perfect quiet without being lazy. She’s not spooky or naughty and always comes out happy to do her job and eager for an adventure.... (read more) She’s been out in the XC field and is willing trotting over logs, and doing the bank, ditch, and water. In the barn she’s incredibly sweet with excellent manners. She stands nicely tied or on the cross ties, bathes, clips, loads easily, and has been good for the vet and farrier. She’s happy in the stall or living out and gets along well with others in turnout. She is healthy and sound with no vices and excellent feet. As good minded and easy as Onyx is, she is still quite green having just been started under saddle. At this point in her training she would still be considered a project and will need a rider capable enough to continue her training. She would be an excellent prospect for a junior/AA who wants to bring along a green horse, but wants something safe, easy, and nonsense free.
