Additional Comments
Cosmo is a 10 y.o. paint gelding, currently living in DeSoto, KS. While Cosmo's history is not well known, our family has gotten to know him better this summer.
We bought Cosmo in poor condition. Since buying him, we have improved the condition of his feet and we have addressed his allergies/asthma condition, learning the regimen of medicine that supports him.
We have also refreshed Cosmo on groundwork and some basic training.... (read more) We have had a little success riding him, but he seems to have a negative association with having a rider. Cosmo has potential, but if he is to be ridden, he would be best with a very experienced rider who does not use forceful training. (He is eager to please but shuts down if the trainer is forceful)
Cosmo does not compete in the herd, making him an amazing companion horse. He loves the pasture but is also comfortable in his paddock. He eats grain twice a day so we can supplement him with organic iodide powder and compounded dex to address his allergies.
When we bought Cosmo, he did not have any vetting paperwork. He is now fully vetted.
He stands for a farrier, is okay being hosed down, does not enjoy fly spray but lets me use a roller, and is okay with fly mask and boots. He stands well to be tacked up.
We are asking for $2,000 to help with some of the costs of his initial vetting, but we are willing to consider appropriate offers, especially if he will be cared for as a companion horse. More photos and videos available.
