“Pudge” – 16H, 14 year old bay grade quarter horse gelding “Pudge” is our resident lesson horse and is an exceptional confidence booster! His odd big claim to fame around here,…is that he has never had even ONE rider part ways with him – and all of our beginners learn to trot and lope in a bareback pad before they get to use a saddle – so parting ways with their horse, just happens!... (read more) However, Pudge is absolutely INSANELY smooth, steady, cadanced, and solid – it is pretty near impossible to fall off of this guy, you have to just bail off of the side of him on purpose to come off of this one! He is a saint and very loved around here and everyone will be sad to see him go, but most of our riders have graduated up to faster horses, and Pudge deserves his forever family where he can be a beloved family member and pet. Pudge is amazing in traffic and out on the trial – he is very happy and confident alone, or will go absolutely anywhere that you place him in a group. He loads and hauls like a pro and stands tied quietly on the trailer when you get there. Near perfect ground manners, very easy and soft and respectful on the ground, but still sweet, loving, and friendly towards his handlers. He loves living in the barn but we mostly keep him turned out in a group of geldings outside, he is fat, an easy keeper, and on no-maintenance! Always eager to be caught, and the first one to you when you go to catch the horses. He knows his job and is the same horse if we pull him up once a week or once a month. He is very smooth and as uncomplicated as they come to ride! We have tons of additional videos of this guy! To see additional videos, go to our website: visit our website or our Facebook page Buster Horses Pudge was just shod this past week, his teeth were also done by an equine dentist this spring, and he had his sheath cleaned, his ears preemptively treated for ticks, and he was also power packed wormed. He is good to shoe, has great feet and also goes well barefoot – if his new owner prefers him to be barefoot, we can have his shoes pulled and trim him prior to him heading to his new home. He will arrive at his new home up-to-date and ready to go to work!
