We are proud to present “Starbuck” a 9-year-old (2015) 16.1hh stunning buckskin gelding Appendix Quarter Horse. In 2023 Starbuck was 3rd in the Ohio Hunter Jumper Association (OHJA) Future Hunter Division. Starbuck excels at Western riding.... (read more) He has been used on a ranch in British Columbia, Canada. He has sorted cows with a rope thrown off him and caught smaller calves in the pasture. He has been ridden on trails, the arena and in the field with adult amateur and junior riders. He can be ridden bridleless and has been ridden bareback with a 9-year-old junior rider.
Starbuck is easy to handle and has excellent ground manners with no bite, buck, bolt or kick. Starbuck has a beautiful walk, a floaty trot, and a rhythmical canter. He moves on and off seat with light to medium pressure, knows lateral movements and is soft thru the pole. He responds very well to aids. His conformation and pedigree would also lend nicely to Dressage. When you add his color to his athletic abilities, you will surely be turning heads, whether out on the trails, on a ranch or in the show ring. Starbuck pokes his nose and pops his ears right up when approaching his stall, and he seeks affection from his human companions and he loves children. Out in the field, he is easy to catch. He loads and unloads for trailering best with a box or a slant stall. He stands for hoof picking and farrier without concern. Starbuck is microchipped and has a lifetime USEF membership, ensuring his identity and eligibility for competitions.
Starbuck is a smart, sensible young horse in his prime with a bright future due to his extensive professional training. He would be best fit and excel at trail riding, Dressage, Western or as a ranch horse. It’s not every day you find a horse with this pedigree, versatility, professional training, mind, and disposition. He is ready to find his next companion and home. Enjoy the accompanying video and images showcasing his exceptional abilities with various riders and terrain. The videos and images speak for themselves.
