Darla is a 14.1hh,6 year old mare. Whether you want to take her to the Ranch shows, dabble in some reining, cover obstacles, trail ride or take her over a few jumps, Darla can do it all! Here’s a mare that’s had a very thorough foundation and is ready to find her new forever home. She knows all the maneuvers, she’ll sidepass, stop, back, turn around, walk to lope, and step up to the mounting block for you to climb on! So if you choose to take her out bareback for a stroll at sunset, and have to step off to pick some wild flowers, (or more realistically, go pee behind a tree), you can snap your fingers and she’ll sidepass right up to the nearest stump, log, fence, etc, so you can climb right back on and finish your perfect ride.... (read more) Darla is easy to catch, and loads on the trailer perfectly. She’ll cross tarps, logs & bridges, carry a flag, and lie down on cue. You can swing a rope off her and drag anything as well! She’s been ridden extensively around the ranch and has been around cattle. She’s very naturally leaded and although she hasn’t been taught to lead change, she’s offered it numerous times. Because of her size and build, we started her lightly over jumps as well and she’s been doing great in that area. If you ride western, Darla will open up countless options for your riding style. And if you’re an English rider who would like to ride a nice, easy ranch horse that’s seen all the obstacles, she’s perfect for you too! 100% sound. Clean bill of health and PPE.
