Kitty is a gorgeous, thick boned/stout made, 15H, 2019, golden palomino cow-bred mare. You will be hard pressed to find another mare as pretty as Kitty, that oozes with this exuberant amount of versatility.
Kitty is a granddaughter of the great High Brow Cat and out of a Shining Spark bred mare. We have done a little bit of everything on this mare over the months– and she keeps proving to us just how good minded and reliable she is.... (read more) From shooting guns, riding downtown with the train blaring on by, she has even schooled 1st level dressage, been trail ridden all over, used a little on a ranch pushing/tacking cows, etc. She truly amazes us each ride. Kitty is just about as smooth and comfortable as they come – seriously, I love riding this mare(her jog and lope are a chefs kiss)!! Same horse everyday kinda mare – no lunge prep, pull from the pasture and go! Maybe you don’t want to saddle her up and just want to go for a quick bareback ride- she is down for that too! She has a simple “push” type of ride -what you ask for is what you get. You control the gas pedal, and she will match your vibe. Kitty will happily go down the trail at a walk or put her to work and she will get right to it. Trail rides alone or with a group with ease.
This mare is so soft in the face/body, she has been well started in her lateral movements, has lovely speed control and really rates off your seat. She will happily go through all the obstacles (bridges, log step overs, water crossing etc). She has carried the flag, had a rope thrown off her/drug logs around, and is proficient in most the maneuvers needed to be successful in any ranch riding event. She would need further development in her turn arounds and sliding stops.
Kitty is uncomplicated to load/unload, she hauls wonderfully to new locations (we have hauled her to different arenas/venues), easy for the vet/farrier, stands tied, bathes, clips, stands quiet for mounting etc. The only negative thing I can pin on her is she can pin her ears at food time when you go in her stall to dump her hay/grain, nothing heinous/dangerous (never offered to kick or bite), she just thinks she is all big and tough and all (lol). Respectful ground manners, no vices, easy to catch, good/tidy in a stall and respects the fences in the pasture.
If you are looking for a gorgeous, comfortable, safe, and gentle mare that can wear multiple hats here is the jack of all trades for you. She will make someone a brilliant western dressage, classical dressage, trail riding, mounted shooting, camping, ranch riding, sorting, or even a rope horse prospect.
Kitty sells with a current (8/3) PPE and radiographs on file for your peace of mind. Current on dental/chiro/farrier/deworming. Kitty is 100% sound, she has never been injected, is an easy keeper, no health issues, and has clean legs (no injuries). Kitty has been barefoot, but is currently shod up front. She has excellent feet (big and well-proportioned to her stature).
