This stunning OTTB was surrendered to the Rescue at the end of 2022 after sustaining a severe hoof injury his owner could not care for. Known as Tally Stick in his racing career, you can look him up for some of his 1st place winnings. After racing in England, Canada and then landing here in Colorado, he was retired by his last owner until unfortunately that owner passed away and Rainier and his companions ended up at an auction. Shortly after being with us, we realized how seriously damaged his hoof was as 1⁄3 of it literally fell apart.... (read more) It has been a long road to recovery for Rainier as we have done everything we possibly can to help him on his healing journey. Rainier has exceeded all of our expectations with his resilience and perseverance and is now getting a refresher course on some light riding and more.
He enjoys being patiently brushed and is always eager for human attention and interaction. Rainier is ready for an experienced person that wants to occasionally do some light riding and can care for him throughout his next chapter in life.
