Now here is one that y’all have been waiting for!!
There’s a lot to say about this mare so buckle up
Willow is a 14 year old spotted saddle bred that DOESNT gait. She has that weird pace and definitely tries to gait but doesn’t, I’m not a gaited horse trainer so I can’t teach her but I’m sure someone can. I’m posting this mare as green broke for a more advanced rider. She’s been on a handful of trail rides with me and was a blast to take.... (read more) She walks through just about anything and isn’t spooky out on the trail. She’ll go into any gait you ask AS LONG as she has a friend with her. The reason I’m posting her as green is because she needs a buddy all the time with her. She leads, loads, stands tied, bathes, picks feet up just needs more work with her back feet, and she has some groundwork done. She WILL NOT back out of a trailer.
This mare can be hard to catch unless you have food or a treat and even then it can be difficult. She has no connection with people so she needs to find someone to bond with!! Her other issue is it is sooo hard to get a bit in her mouth but once in, she is perfectly fine and listens to the bit great. I will say that she LOVES water and doesn’t have a problem swimming or getting bathed and she’s good with the fly spray. Shes been under saddle since about June and has done great, definitely needs more work but she’s going in the right direction!!
