Emmy is a 7-year-old, registered quarter-horse mare (refer to papers). She’s sweet-natured and willing, both on the ground and under saddle. In the herd she’s at the bottom of the pecking order in the herd and has coexisted well with geldings and mares. She stands quietly in the crossties and for the farrier/vet and is starting to ground tie. Soft to lead and ride. Easy to load and clip. Solid w/t/c…. solo or with a group. Fantastic jog, consistent tempos, soft shoulder yields, neck reins, collects, is 90% consistent with canter leads, soft leg wields, solid stop (with seat que), this little lady has some nice foundational training and fancy “buttons”.... (read more) There’s a possibility of doing many different disciplines with her, and I feel I’d be selling her short to pick just one. She’s done remarkably well with obstacle training and cowboy challenges but has not competed. Her only “vice” is ear sensitivity. Somebody obviously used them as handles (excessive twitching) at some point in her past. She has made a lot of progress, though, and lets us rub all over them, but she’s still “guarded” when bridling.
