Meet Elvira! She's a 5-year-old, well to do, Percheron/Quarter cross. This mare speaks for herself in the looks department and has a bonus of being giant sweetheart. This girl is a good mix of being easy going, but with a bit of spark to be athletic and quick. She has great ground manners and is polite with the farrier. An important aspect for horses of this size in my opinion! Standing at an even 16 hands, she is a nice height, while packing some serious muscle.... (read more) This mare has a great foundation in both riding and driving disciplines. Elvira is well broke and responsive. She is set to go in any direction, just will need some more time and miles. I've been seriously tempted on keeping this girl, but I have more prospects in need of my time. She is good in working with a rope, has been around cows, and other livestock. I work and train my horses in ranching. She is a solid horse on trails and is traffic safe to drive under harness. This winter, she spent five months with a trainer learning to drive. She has not been driven since coming home due to not having a cart big enough to drive her in. However, it wouldn't take much to get back into the swing of it! I do not recommend her for novice riders or someone new to driving horses since she is still young.

Gettysburg Carriage LLC

We are an operating carriage company in Gettysburg Pa. We offer colt starting and driving training for horses. Riding or driving lessons are offered on our farm as well.
