This boy is a quarter horse cross in his mid 20’s. He is a beginner safe horse (with a knowledgeable instructor) He is a fun horse to ride; happy to poke along at my (mom’s) pace and just as happy to trot or canter. You don’t need a crop or spurs with this boy. He’ll even pop over cross rails. He’ll go out by himself or in a group. He is very nice on the ground, even pokey when being led. He doesn’t like shows, however.... (read more) His behavior is fine, but he gets diarrhea by day two or three. Since the other horses were fine, we put it down to stress and now he is just a trail horse (we do trails off the farm too and even parades).
One of my daughters went off to school so I need to downsize. We picked this one to sell because although he is a nice ride he’s a hard keeper.He does pretty good in the summer on grass with some grain, but he doesn’t do well on hay. So in the winter he needs extras. He needs someone with the time, knowledge, and money to feed him well. He is sound, good for the vet, farrier etc. Likes to be the center of the pack in the pasture, but not the bottom; he’ll defend his spot. Asking $2500. Located in St. Johnsville 13452.
