Additional Comments
Dusty is a 2016 Red Dun Qh gelding. A solid 15.3hh and AQHA registered.
He was started as a 3-year-old and used on the ranch for 2 years. On the ranch he sorted cattle, got lots of pasture miles, and did some roping. The last 3 years his focus has been on dressage. He enjoys the arena work and loves to jump. I would like to see him go to someone who's interest is western dressage or dressage/HJ. He is polite, personable and tries hard for his rider.... He has shown western dressage at a basic level and dressage at a first level. Dusty is comfortably jumping 2’ courses and has room to jump 2’3” - 2’6”. He has a great natural rhythm and stays with his rider’s aids. Nice off the leg and easy with lateral movements. Currently schooling second level movements in dressage and working towards changes.
He has been trailered extensively to clinics, schooling shows, and off-property lessons. He has had a variety of riders on him and adjust easily to them all. Dusty could be handled by an amateur, make a nice step-up horse for a lesson program or be something fun and easy for an experienced rider. He is honest and consistent from day to day and enjoys the same in his training. Time off or ridden once or twice a week is no issue - he will be the same horse.
He does get stressed in some show environments but is very manageable.
No first time horse owners or beginners please. He has no bad habits but there are better suited horses out there if you fall into one of those categories.
UTD on wormer, shots and teeth. No soundness or health issues and is currently barefoot. Good to tie, trailer, clip and bath.
Would not be suitable to a home where turnout is limited. He has lived outside 24/7 and enjoys his pasture buddies to keep him enriched and happy. He gets along with all horses - middle/high in the pecking order.
I have owned him since he was 2.5yrs old. Please contact me with any questions after you have read the ad thoroughly. Plenty more pictures and videos available.
